Edwards’ lab graduate student Eugene Gyasi Agyemang was the lead author of a recent research publication titled Multimodal Nanoparticle Analysis Enabled by a Polymer Electrolyte Nanopore Combined with Nanoimpact Electrochemistry in the journal Faraday Discussions. This is Eugene’s very first scientific paper authorship. This article stems from collaborating with our counterparts at Leeds University in the UK, Prof Paolo Actis and group, and Ruhr University Bochum in Germany, Prof Kristina Tschulik and group. This work harnesses the enhanced signal fidelity afforded by the polymer, polyethylene glycol (PEG) in nanopore measurements, which we previously reported, to explore a novel multi-sensing approach incorporating nanopore sensing and nanoimpact electrochemistry, a proof of concept for the development of a host multimodal nanoelectrochemical characterization and sensing platforms enabled by polymer-enhanced nanopore systems.
