Dr. Martin Edwards was honored with an Outstanding Mentor Award, and Eugene Gyasi received the 2025 National Scholar Award at the State and National Awards Reception held on April 21, 2025. Presented by the University of Arkansas, these recognitions celebrate Eugene’s travel award to present his nanopore research at the African Materials Society Research Conference in Kigali last December, as well as Dr. Edwards’s exceptional mentorship and commitment to guiding students toward scientific achievements. The Arkansas Biosciences Institute Research Grant has supported Eugene’s nanopore work in the Edwards Lab.
