Martin Edwards joined the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Arkansas as an Assistant Professor in August 2020Prior to this he held the position of research professor in the group of Henry White (Utah).

Rudy Acosta earned his bachelor’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biochemistry from the University of Texas – El Paso. One of his biggest passions is Latine visibility in STEM to help promote more Latine professors that are conducting research. When he is not teaching or conducting his own research, he enjoys boxing, curating Spotify playlists, and playing/watching horror-based games/movies.

Sam Amoozadeh

Sam Amoozadeh earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Materials Science and Engineering at Sharif University of Technology in Iran, focusing on nanotechnology and electrochemistry. His projects included the synthesis of nanoparticles and electrochemical studies. Outside of the lab, he is an avid traveler, history and novel enthusiast, and sports lover, engaging in activities like tennis, swimming, and biking. He joined the Edwards lab as a PhD student and his research involves applying nanoscale electrochemical techniques to gain deeper understanding of corrosion processes.

Kamsy Anderson earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, with a concentration in biochemistry. She is motivated to pursue chemistry by a drive to ask questions and explore possible answers. Outside of lab she enjoys taking her dog out for walks and playing disc golf with her husband.

Eugene Gyasi Agyemang

Eugene Gyasi Agyemang

Eugene describes himself as a pan-Africanist from the West African country of Ghana. He has spent a lot of time traveling around West Africa and the Caribbean. Eugene is very much interested in studying chemistry and physics and how concepts from these fields can be applied to answer biological questions, especially regarding physiological responses and receptor-drug interactivity. His current research is focused on using Scanning Ion Conductance Microscopy to investigate biological events and processes. His undergraduate major was in chemistry. Eugene enjoys reading written pieces on the history of science and chronicles of the development of scientific concepts. Outside of science, he is a chronicler of music genres of black origin, an adventure-seeking traveler, a recreational soccer and basketball player, and a writer of poetry. 

Grant Jeffcoat

Grant Jeffcoat was awarded his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. His research focuses on electrochemical microscopy and applies to fundamental aspects of electrochemistry and beyond. His interests outside of science and chemistry are a combination of art and engineering; particularly when it comes to 3D printing.

Bharti Kataria earned her Undergraduate degree in Industrial Chemistry from Delhi University and her Master’s Degree in Applied Chemisrty from Amity University, India. Her research focus is in Nanopore Sensing. In her free time she loves Reading, Painting and hanging out with friends.

Mostafa "Mosi" Mahmoudi

Mostafa "Mosi" Mahmoudi

Mostafa Mahmoudi earned his bachelor from Sharif University in Tehran, Iran. His research is studying nanoscale electrochemical phenomena, experimentally and with computational modelling. Mostafa enjoys hiking, playing the guitar, and playing volleyball in his free time.

Nicholas Jones is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Nanosystems Engineering with a focus in chemistry from Louisiana Tech University. He is driven by the desire to contribute to the advancement of research techniques and processes. In his off time, he enjoys carpentry, painting, and spending time with his family.
